The Accidental Enthusiast
The Bible is a Guidebook for Today's Problems

God gives us instructions, a clear "How-To Live" Guide through the Bible. Philippians 4:8 states clearly, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things." NKJV

He tells us this because if we memorize His word, our minds will shift, and instead of negative thoughts, His thoughts —good thoughts — will come to mind, and we will begin to approach our lives and problems with His mindset. He will partner with us and help us to meet those challenges. Our part is to know Him and His mind through His word and prayer. His part is to answer us with His love. Early in my life, I did not understand the purpose of scripture meditation and memorization, but now I see that His method is clear. I know it works from personal experience. Revelation 12 tells us,  And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. The blood of Jesus overcomes Satan, and there is no reason to come into agreement with the mindsets of the evil one when He has already been defeated. We must align ourselves with the victor, Jesus Christ. Speak up for yourself today, testify. Jesus already did His part.
